Navarre is situated along Hwy 98 between Gulf Breeze and Fort Walton Beach. Like Gulf Breeze, Navarre is largely a waterfront community with East Bay on the north border and Santa Rosa sound along the southern border. Popular subsections and communities in Navarre include Holley Navarre, Holley by the Sea, and East Bay, as well as neighboring Navarre Beach. Navarre Beach is described as “Florida’s Most Relaxing Beach” as Navarre Beach offers some of the whitest sand, clear water beaches along the Gulf Coast but with a relaxing, low-key environment. You’ll find all the charm and beauty of larger Florida beach destinations but without the touristy feel, and along with a sense of community you won’t find everywhere.
Like Pace, Navarre has grown exponentially in recent years. Navarre is the second largest city by population in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties with nearly 40,000 residents, and it is home to many active duty and retired military service members. With nearby Hurlburt Field and Eglin Air Force bases, the community has a large military presence.
